PSYCHOLOGICAL SUPPORT FOR YOUR PEOPLE

Confidential, experienced support when it is needed.

When someone is struggling, getting the right support quickly can make a significant difference.

An employee, partner or senior leader may be experiencing anxiety, stress, loss of confidence, difficulties at home or at work, or simply finding that the demands they are carrying have become too much.

For an organisation, knowing what will help isn't always straightforward.

I provide direct access to confidential psychological support, with appointments usually available at short notice. Support can be commissioned for an individual as the need arises, or through an ongoing organisational contract.

Discuss support for your organisation.

When someone is struggling

Not every problem that appears at work starts at work.

Changes in performance, absence, anxiety, loss of confidence, difficulties with relationships or someone simply no longer seeming themselves can have many causes. Sometimes the difficulty is predominantly professional. Sometimes it is personal. Often the two have become intertwined.

My background combines psychotherapy with more than 35 years' experience of organisations, including senior operational and leadership roles, organisational development and executive coaching.

I understand the environment your people are working within as well as the psychological complexity they may be experiencing.

The starting point is not assuming what the problem is, but understanding what is actually happening.

When coaching isn't the answer

Coaching can be extremely effective when the issue concerns leadership, performance, relationships, transition or development.

But coaching isn't always the right intervention.

Where emotional distress, personal circumstances or more complex psychological difficulties are affecting someone, therapeutic support may be more appropriate.

Because my work spans psychotherapy, executive coaching and organisational development, I understand the distinction. Where the appropriate intervention isn't immediately clear, an initial conversation can help determine what is likely to be most useful.

Confidential and independent

The organisation may commission and fund the support, but the therapeutic relationship is with the individual.

What is discussed in sessions remains confidential and is not reported back to the organisation, subject to the usual professional, ethical and safeguarding limits of confidentiality.

For someone carrying significant professional responsibility, having a space outside the organisation in which they can speak freely can be particularly valuable.

Concerned about someone in your organisation?

You don't need to know what kind of support they need before getting in touch.

Support can usually be accessed at short notice and can complement existing EAP, occupational health or private healthcare provision.
